Madeline Island School of the Arts 
MISA is located on Madeline Island, WI,  and in  six years has become a top ranked national art and craft school with additional locations in Tucson and Santa Fe.  The school operates summer classes on the Island from June to mid-October, and  winter workshops January to May at its Southwest campuses.
Classes consist of four different genres (beginner - advanced) in quilting, writing, photography and painting and are taught by national and international instructors.   The unique MISA campus has its own private lodging and dining facilities for up to 45 people per week.
Our MISA West winter workshops are held at the #1 dude ranch in the Southwest - Tanque Verde Ranch, in Tucson and a premier resort facility in Santa Fe. There are approximately 600 students each summer on the Island and 250 in the Southwest.

Position Summary
The school is seeking an experienced candidate (30+) with a college degree or equivalent. The Associate Director of Programs will work with a small team to analyze and select top teacher candidates  for the school's  workshop programs and then work with the teachers and a variety of social media platforms to market and fill their classes.

This is a unique career opportunity in the  hospitality industry.  
The position includes salary, full benefits and a bonus plan.  The job will be based in the MISA Bayfield Office  from October to  May, and then, periodically,  at the Island Office during the summer workshop season.
  • Provides leadership, manages and participates in the teacher programming function to ensure the most accomplished and most renowned teachers are scheduled 2-3 years in advance.
  • Responsible for teacher contract design and management.
  • Develops and manages systems and procedures to assist teacher promotion efforts and strategies for their respective workshops.
  • Works with the Director of Marketing to design and implement promotion and marketing strategies.
  • Provides recommendations for studio requirements and ensures that school policies and procedures are followed.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Excel and Word and some graphic skills.
  • Ability to work well as a member of a team and guide others in collaborative problem solving
  • High energy, creativity, a sense of humor and willingness to "jump in with both feet"
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate accurately the vision, mission and achievements of MISA
  • Interested in travel to the Southwest to help manage the MISA West Winter Workshops and trade show conventions..
