Event Description:
Grab your shovels, buckets and creativity for a fun-filled day along our beautiful Barrier Beach. Groups and individuals of all ages are welcome to participate (registration is free)! Contest registration begins at 9:00AM, Judging begins at 12:00PM and prizes will be awarded following judging. Prizes will be awarded for Best Overall, Best Creature, Best Lake Superior Theme, and Best "Story" for your design.
Even if you don't participate, join us out at the park for other activities including Nature Stations from 9:00AM-2:00PM, a Nature Program at 12:30PM, Guided Boardwalk Hike in the State Natural Area at 2:00PM, and UW - Universe in the Park astronomy program at 8:45PM. All activities start or take place at the Day Use Picnic Area.
