From the team that brought us “Shanties & Shipwrecks” comes a musical adventure of jigs and ballads as they travel to the Appalachian Mountains by way of a quarter of a million Scots Irish. Before the United States were formed, the inhabitants were absorbing, merging and transforming the ethnic sounds of its people. Join the evolution of songs as the old melodies tell new stories and dance steps from the old countries are washed in the mountain ways.  Hear the changes as new music, like bluegrass, are being born into the world of our traditional American musical culture. Performed by our own Blue Canvas Orchestra and led by Severin Behnen, the cast features special guests Stevie Matier, Molly Stoddard, Harrison Olk, Tom Draughon, Nori Perrine and Mary Lou Williams.
