Event Description:
Madeline Island Chamber Music is pleased to present the Borromeo String Quartet in concert on Madeline Island. The Borromeo is the recipient of numerous awards including Lincoln Center’s Martin E. Segal Award in 2001 and the Avery Fisher Career Grant in 2007. The quartet is also known for their deep analysis and understanding of composers’ works they perform, and the incorporation of technology in their performances. They are currently the Faculty Quartet-in-Residence at New England Conservatory of Music, and Visiting Quartet-in-Residence at Colorado State University at Fort Collins, San Francisco Conservatory, and Taos School of Music in New Mexico. Madeline Island Chamber Music, a nonprofit educational corporation, provides chamber music training and performance for talented young musicians in a structured, residential environment. Madeline Island Chamber Music is dedicated to educating and nurturing young musicians, as well as enriching the communities in which we live.
