The dedication to, "Gateway to Madeline Island", sculpture will be on Saturday, July 30th at 2:00 P.M. at the site of the sculpture, (green space next to Grampa Tony's).
 
This sculpture reflects the unique spirit, natural beauty, and historic legacy of Madeline
Island. It depicts a white crane (Ajijjaak) rising from the red earth, representing the
strong connection to the land over time and cultures. The crane is a universal symbol of
living in harmony with others. 
 
Artist: Lisa Kosmo, Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians
Project of the La Pointe Center for the Arts and the Town of La Pointe Public Arts Committee.

At the sculpture, in the green next to Grampa Tony's.
