Acclaimed Chicago based ensemble Prairie Winds Quintet have captivated audiences throughout North America performing the finest wind quintet literature in concert programs that entertain as well as enlighten. The Prairie Winds Quintet will be performing at United Presbyterian Congregational Church in Ashland, WI inaugurating the Madeline Island Chamber Music 2017 Chamber Music Festival. Their program includes a mix of classics, jazz inspired works and other well know favorites including the Scherzo from Mendelssohn’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, a Suite from Bizet’s Carmen and the lively Klezmer Dances by Gene Kavadlo. Tickets are $15, general admission, and can be purchased online at www.micm.org, by calling 715-747-2561 and at the door. Also come see the 25 woodwind and horn students from the Seminar for Advanced Wind Chamber Music the following Saturday, June 17 at 11am and 2pm. $5 ticket available at the door.
