This workshop in oils, pastels and acrylics is for artists at an intermediate – advanced level.

During this studio workshop, you will learn how to succeed in making large landscape paintings.  You work from digital images, sketches and small studies to produce paintings on surfaces 30“x40” and/or larger.  You will concentrate on broad big shapes, with special attention to dramatic relationships within your painting.

The class will explore contemporary and classical composition, and will pay special attention to getting correct value relationships to create space and emphasis.  Demonstrations by Gil will be done in all three mediums, each day.  Oil paintings will be done with an acrylic underpainting for the convenience of the drying time between layers. 

Gil will provide plenty of individual attention for you at your easel and constructive critique.
